Reviews of campsites Morocco Andrew and Carol Doree (brother and sister in law) toured Morocco for 6 months during winter 2023/2024. They inspected nearly 200 Moroccan campsites. We have selected the 158 best campsites in Morocco that are suitable for motorhomes, campervans, 4x4 and tent users and many campsites have accommodation too.

Cheap accommodation with food for 4x4 drivers Most of the Moroccan campsites in this PDF also have accommodation from simple Berber tents, bivouacs all the way to European standard en-suite air conditioned rooms.

Where can you camp in the desert in Morocco? Many of the campsites near Moroccan deserts also have desert camps, and you can get to them by camels, dromedaries, or a 4x4 Moroccan desert tour. There is often a selection of campsite in the towns near to the most popular dunes and palmaries. We have detailed all of them and tell what you need to know to make the best choice for you.

How clean are the toilets at Moroccan campsites? Moroccan campsite toilets and shower are often rather rustic and frequently old and knackered. At the the end of campsite description you will see one of the following comments;
Limited: Some facilities may be unusable due to lack of cleanliness and/or maintenance.
Maintained: Any age but clean and useable.
Well maintained: Clean and useable facilities maintained to a good level.
Excellent: Multiple clean facilities, as expected of large European campsites.

Is Morocco good for camping, can you buy a meal?
Camping in Morocco is not the same as in Europe apart form at a few campsites that are often owned by Europeans. However, the welcome you are likely to receive and the hospitality throughout your stay will live with you forever. You can  eat with the owners at some of the traditional campsites and defiantly will at desert camps. Most campsites offer inexpensive and wholesome home cooked food. Pre ordering is frequently required and we have put this in the descriptions.

List of 61 Moroccan campsites with swimming pools A lot of Moroccan campsites are located behind hotels that often have swimming pools, some also have licenced bars. Berber whisky is sometimes given as a welcome drink and may well be flowing when sitting around an open fire at night.
